Ayub Bachchu is a legend and without doubt the best guitarist in the country. Whether it is guitar or drums or vocal he has set high standards for musicians in all fields. So when the opportunity came for young bassists to interact with him in a workshop on 5th March at OMNI music studio at Dhanmondi in the city of Bangladesh. The rush was only expected. The day long workshop on bass guitar conducted by Farid Rashid was brought for the enthusiastic and young music lovers of our country by Kalponik. A founder member and former bassist of popular band Miles, Farid Rashid is currently playing for a US based instrumental band named Painted Diaries.
He gave some tips on how to improve the skills which was very helpful for the young learners. He also for the young learners. He also showed a few samples of funky beats, rock, groove and blues on his bass while Ayub Bachchu accompanied him by playing drums. "Bass is an important instrument. All forms of music does not need bass but it enriches the music. It is a support for percussion. Key board guitars follow different pattern but drums and bass are mixed", said Farid Rashid.
Fuad Naser Babu, another legendary composer of Bangladesh also joined in and enriched the experience for the young musical aspirants. True to his humble nature, he proclaimed "I am here to learn".
The workshop ended with an impressive musical session participated by the talented young musicians.
